Clearing and settlement
The layer between a trade and its consequence: central counterparties that stand between the two sides, depositories that move the record of ownership, and the system that settles both legs of a foreign-exchange trade together. Separate legal persons from the venues they serve — which is where a common identifier error comes from.
Every LEI here was resolved through GLEIF and re-checked before publication: all 20 are ACTIVE with an ISSUED registration. None of them coincides with the operator LEI of any venue in this dataset — they are different legal persons, and treating them as one is the error described on the Bucharest and Tel Aviv pages. Provenance.

These exist and matter. They are not published because we could not establish their identity to the standard the rest of this table meets, and a plausible guess would be worse than a gap.
- euroclear-bank — International CSD, Belgium. GLEIF returns EUROCLEAR (549300CBNW05DILT6870) and EUROCLEAR HOLDING for the group, but not the settling bank itself. Which legal person operates the ICSD could not be established by search.
- clearstream-frankfurt — Central securities depository, Germany. The only German match GLEIF returns is CLEARSTREAM EUROPE AG (549300298FD7AS4PPU70). That looks like a rename of Clearstream Banking AG, but it cannot be confirmed as one from the registry alone.
- chinaclear — Depository and central counterparty, China. The institution exists and its site answers, but it has no LEI in GLEIF at all — a systemically important depository with no identifier, which is itself worth recording.
